The ABNT Ecolabelling Program was developed in order to support an ongoing effort to improve and/or maintain environmental quality by reducing the consumption of energy and materials and minimizing the impacts of pollution generated by production, use and disposal of products and services.
The criteria documents are prepared on the basis of an overview of aspects related to the life cycle evaluation of products and information of specifications to similar products from other environmental labeling programs developed by other members of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).
